the skinny
Dayton Pocket/Laurel Falls is one of the most unpredictable boulderfields in the southeast, but, if you are flexible there is almost always something to climb on there. If it is raining the roof is usually dry, however, be careful of overcast days - sometimes, inexplicably, when it is overcast the entire front area will be wet. The boulders at Laurel will sometimes still be dry, your best bet is after crossing the metal bridge about 20 minutes in to go left and then up the hill to the southfacing hillside boulders. (same area as Tommy Turns Tricks and Emerson's King Line Proj)
